27 September 2019
On September 27, 'Form follows flow: Building planetary capacity' was the title of the talk by Eva Pfannes at the Degrowth Conference as part of the Oslo Architecture Triennale 2019. The conference, curated by Interrobang in collaboration with the National Association of Norwegian Architects, focused on how architects can plan for development without growth.
The event which fell on the Architecture Day 2019, discussed the concept of degrowth, where economic growth is not a natural requirement for all development. Key topics like the role of architecture in the improved management of human and natural resources and how architects can steer development in the right track were discussed with other international contributors like Niels Ove Kildahl (DK), Peter Barber (GB), Jo Taillieu (BE) and others. Eva presented insights on planetary capacity and ecological balance in urban settings.
