2 September 2020
Tomorrow, on 3rd September, Eva Pfannes and Sylvain Hartenberg along with artist collaborator Marjetica Potrč, will be speaking at the Gestaltad livsmiljö 2020 (Designed Living Environment 2020) conference organised by ArkDes, the Swedish National Centre for Architecture and Design.
Under the theme of Powers and Possibilities, the speakers will present our project 'Future Island', an island of stones, a pioneer landscape in evolution over the next 100 years. It is a micro-ecosystem, a biotope of plants and animals that constantly adapts to the slowly changing conditions projecting live a +5°C environment on part of the island. The island is a witness of a possible future that still can be changed.
If you have not registered already, the conference will soon be available for viewing on ArkDes play after September 3rd.
Future Island has been commissioned by the Public Art Agency Sweden (Curator Lotta Mossum) for Akademiska Hus and AB Svenska Bostäder and a team of experts and advisers for the energy & the flora and the fauna of the island.
