IABR 2022 - Makers Fest @ Fero Building 23. sept, Friday, 12:00–19:00

The IT'S ABOUT TIME program starts on Friday 23 September. Throughout the day, talks, presentations and panels will take place in the Ferro building with exhibitors and curators talking about the three design strategies that are central to the exhibition: the Accelerator, the Activist and the Ancestor. The day ends with a reflection by young curators Maria Christopoulou and Theodora Gelali.
Eva Pfannes (OOZE) will be presenting the Agua Carioca project as part of the session “Activist” together with a wider group of speakers including Janna Bystrykh (BYSTRYKH), Julien Choppin (Encore Heureux), Valerie Disdier (Ecole Urbaine de Lyon), Stefan Gzyl (Incursiones), Josymar Rodriguez (Incursiones) and Ester van de Wiel (Studio Ester van de Wheel).
The moderators are Derk Loorbach and Saskia van Stein.
Many speakers from the "Ancestors" and the "Accelerators" are given a stage throughout the day to explain their projects. Presentations and talks with exhibitors, Cristal Ange (Herencia Ambiental Caribe), Alexander d'Hooghe (Org Permanent Modernity), Ali Ismail (AgwA), Anupama Kundoo (Anupama Kundoo Architects), Julian Restrepo (TALLER Architects), Paola Vigano (EPFL), Richard Weller (Director of the McHarg Center at The University of Pennsylvania) and Kongjian Yu (Turenscape), Markus Appenzeller (MLA+), Erica Petrillo (2050+), Philippe Rizzotti (Philippe Rizotti Architecte), Massimo Tenan (2050+) and Marco Vermeulen (Studio Marco Vermeulen).
In an additional session, IABR Director Saskia van Stein talks to the curators of IT'S ABOUT TIME: Dr. Ir. Derk Loorbach (professor of Socio-economic Transitions, director of DRIFT and principal investigator of the Design, Impact, Transition (DIT) platform of Erasmus University Rotterdam), Véronique Patteeuw (lecturer at the École Nationale Supérieure d'Architecture et du Paysage Lille, guest lecturer at the KU Leuven and EPFL Lausanne and scientific editor of OASE), Léa-Catherine Szacka (senior lecturer in Architecture Studies at the University of Manchester and guest lecturer at the Berlage, Delft University of Technology and ETH Zurich and Peter Veenstra (co-founder of LOLA Landscape Architects).
The day ends with a reflection by young curators Maria Christopoulou and Theodora Gelali.
