OOZE (architect and urbanist) are co-organising with Deltares and the Government of the Netherlands a training workshop in New Delhi.
The workshop is providing a greater understanding of the Water as Leverage ( WAL ) approach in order to demonstrate it’s great potential value for the National Mission for Clean Ganga ( NMCG ) and other water programs.
During 2 days the Dutch team and the Indian invitees ( Counter parts ) are co-creating via a series of speeches, presentations, site visits and various interactive activities new possibilities for exchange and development of common efforts to contribute to the great task of cleaning the Namami Gange river. The different aspects of WAL, including designing, engineering and commissioning are explained and previous applications such as City of 1000 Tanks in Chennai are presented.
The participants are practicing the WAL approach in a series of case studies which are focusing on chosen cities along the Ganga basin. A Multi topic and instinctive short guided set of exercises leading to co-creation of ideas are setting directions and potential path for WAL and NMCG future collaborations.
The aim of the exercises is to induce lively conversations, mutual understanding and interest on processes, topics and visions with a strong focus on nature-based solutions ( NBS ). Another focus are given to other specificities of the WaL approach such as inclusiveness, integration and innovation where local knowledge is explicit and expert knowledge is applied.
12 Regional and National governmental organisations will be joining the workshop.
