The Cook, the Farmer, His Wife and Their Neighbour has been nominated for the International Award for Public Art (IAPA),
The International Award for Public Art which was co-founded in 2011 by the two magazines Public Art China and Public Art Review (USA) with the aim of propagating knowledge about the practice of public art globally. The theme of the first award process is place-making.The projects could be realised anywhere, and artists could be of any nationality.
The project has been selected amongst 120 projects together with 5 other finalist (Niger Buildings- Not Vital, The High Line New York - Diller Scofidio & Piet Oudolf, Sichuan Academy of Art - Hao Dapeng, 21 Beach Cells - Gregor Schneider, Tiuna el Fuerte Cultural Park- Alejandro Haiek Coll and Eleanna Cadalso Vera.
The Jury is composed of:
Lewis Biggs, independent curator, former Director of Liverpool Biennial and Tate Liverpool, and Chair of the Organising Committee of IAPA.
Jack Becker, Director of Forecast and Publisher, Public Art Review.
Katia Canton, Museum of Contemporary Art, University of São Paulo, Brazil.
Fulya Erdemci, Director of SKOR | Foundation for Art and Public Domain, the Netherlands.
Yuko Hasegawa, Chief Curator at Tokyo Museum of Contemporary Art.
Wang DaWei, Dean of the College of Fine Arts, University of Shanghai and Publisher, Public Art (China).
