The Wind Lift is On

15 February 2014

Ooze and Marjetica Potrc have been commissioned to participate to the Folkestone art Trienial with the project " The wind lift". The project is curated by Lewis Biggs and organized by the Creative Foundation.

The Wind Lift project uses one of the Foord viaduct’s nineteen arches as a wind funnel. A wind turbine large enough to fill the entire upper section of the arch produces energy, which is used to power a construction passenger lift. The visitor can go up to see the view only when there is enough energy harvested .The project explores the potential of a local close loop system in an urban environment.

The other artists invited are Andy Goldsworthy, Alex Hartley, Amina Menia, Diane Dever & Jonathan Wright, Emma Hart, Gabriel Lester, Ian Hamilton Finlay, John Harle & Tom Pickard with the Folkestone Futures Choir, Jyll Bradley, muf Architecture/Art, Pablo Bronstein, rootoftwo, Sarah Staton, Something & Son, Strange Cargo, Tim Etchells, Will Kwan and Yoko Ono.

The event runs from 30st of August to 2nd of November 2014
