FORUM STÄDTEBAU ‹BASEL 2050› -PODIUM XIII | ‹DIE BLAUE STADT: WASSER ALS URBANER BAUSTEIN›

The Forum City Building is a co-production of the Swiss Architecture Museum and municipal department of Urban Development & Architecture. Eva Pfannes is invited to be part of the forum on 3 November in the Foyer of the Theater Basel. There is much to be said for shifting the aggregate state of urban space from solid to liquid again. With industrialization, the network of watercourses in the cities was covered in order to create more hygiene and safety and to maximize developable areas. This not only changed the iconography of urban space but also specifically changed the urban climate. The question is how to create a blue city with water as an urban component.
