Ooze-led consortium selected by Dutch government for ‘Water as Leverage’ programme in Chennai

21 August 2018

The programme - an initiative of the Dutch Special Envoy for International Water Affairs, Henk Ovink and the Dutch Government - asks 6 international teams to develop ground-breaking, innovative approaches to tackle climate and water challenges in three major Asian cities: Semarang (Indonesia), Khulna (Bangladesh) and Chennai (India). The Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) and the Dutch Development Bank (FMO) will help to identify projects, support their development and facilitate their implementation.

Over the coming months, along with our team (Madras Terrace, Goethe Institut, Ramakrishnan Venkatesh, Vanessa Peter, IHE Delft, Rain Centre, Care Earth Trust, Paperman, Pitchandikulam Forest Consultants, IIT Madras, TU Delft - Urbanism, HKV consultants) we will work with local stakeholders to develop our designs and proposals.

Water as Leverage for Resilient Cities: Asia is an initiative of the Dutch Water Envoy and the Dutch Government (Ministry of Foreign Affairs and RVO.nl) in partnership with the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB), the International Architecture Biennale Rotterdam (IABR), Architecture Workroom Brussels (AWB), the Global Center of Excellence on Climate Adaptation (GCECA), and 100 Resilient Cities (100RC), supported by the Dutch Development Bank (FMO) and endorsed by the UN/World Bank High Level Panel on Water.
