Water Works: Lecture at ETH Zürich on the political economy of architecture and territory
On the invitation of Prof. Dr. Marc Angélil and Prof. Milica Topalović (ETH Zürich), Eva Pfannes and Sylvain Hartenberg were in conversation with Dirk Hebel as part of the Sessions on Territory series. Our lecture, WATER WORKS, explored a paradigm shift in how water is integrated into our lives at the scale of our households, our neighbourhoods and our city. Focusing on how the epoch of the Anthropocene reframes our conceptions of the urban and shapes new ecologies, the seminar’s objective was to unravel contemporary forces at work in the formation of the built and natural environment, and, as importantly, to spur debates that challenge the status quo.
